Maybe Mitt meant ‘and less’ to mean that for all amounts below 250,000 bucks one is in the ‘middle income’ group, so that implies that even the poor are middle income. It is a strange way of classifying an income bracket, and it conveniently eliminates poverty from the Great American Way of Life. But, we have to take this as a possible Freudian slip on Mitt’s part, because of the also-mentioned 200,000 lower limit. It’s actually an inversion of sense. As people have incomes above $250,000 they are part of the increasingly suffering rich. The more they have, the less they are satisfied. So, they think they need more all the time.

Has everyone seen the documentary ‘I am?’ Very inspiring.

I once sat near a party of obviously well-to-do people at a restaurant, and overheard one among them remark “I just don’t know how John manages on only $500,000 a year.”

It all has to do with dopamine in the brain. Or something.

If middle class is defined as one who makes between $200,000 and $250,000, how does “and less” work?

Romney was interviewed by George Stephanopolous (spelling?). Romney said that the middle class are those making between $200,000 and $250,000 per year.

That’s out of touch!!

While I think Romney is absurdly out of touch with anyone who doesn't make mid 6-figures at least, I don't dispute that, but can we all acknowledge that there are people out there that leach off the system in one way or another? They may not live in the Hamptons, and I realize they don't make up anywhere near the 47% that Romney quoted, but they do exist. And they ruin the system for everyone.
