Spokane River: poss. murder weapon recovered

A Spokane County sheriff's spokesman says the sheriff's dive team has
recovered from the Spokane River an AK-47 rifle believed used in a murder
last December in north Whitman County.
 
Deputy Craig Chamberlin said investigators believe the rifle found Tuesday
was used to kill Marcus Allen Schur, who died of multiple gunshot wounds
Dec. 27, 2011. His body was discovered March 25 in a shallow creek.
 
The Spokesman-Review reports that two brothers are accused of killing Schur.

Whitman County sheriff's detectives learned the gun was dumped off the T.J.
Meenach Bridge. This was the dive team's fourth attempt to find the rifle.
The weapon will be checked for fingerprints.
