Today's DN headline story attempts to portray the argument for and against Propositions 1,2,3 as a legitimate debate between two camps differing on the direction Idaho public education should head. Nothing could be further from the truth. The referendums proposed are smoke and mirrors which hide the true intent of those who write them. The "problems" these referendums address are trumped up in order to advance the agendas of stake holders in the e-learning business world. As additional perks, Idaho teachers loose bargaining rights (more union bashing) , are replaced by laptops (oh the profits for certain computer companies are just staggering), and teachers will have no reasonable guarantee of future employment (that will keep quality teachers in Idaho, eh?). A sidebar article explains from which camp these reforms have initiated; corporate contributions hidden behind a non-profit "social welfare organization."   Perfectly clear now, yes?
Let's not get ripped off by these "reforms." Vote No on Props 1,2,3.
