"Live Free or Fly": JetBlue to Fly Disappointed Voters Out of the U.S.

The airline will give away 2012 seats, or 1,006 round-trip flights, for customers that come out on the losing end of the Nov. 6 election.

With a presidential election comes an inventible threat from voters: "If the other guy wins, I’m moving out of the country."

This year, JetBlue has called their bluff.

The New York-based company announced on Wednesday that it will fly disgruntled voters out of the country to lick their post-election wounds.

"And remember, if you change your mind, you can always come back. Or not. It’s a free country," according to the airline’s Election Protection contest entry.

As part of its Live Free or Fly campaign, JetBlue will give away 2012 seats, or 1,006 round-trip flights, for customers that come out on the losing end of the battle between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

To enter, customers must choose their candidate in JetBlue's contest poll. Beyond the marketing gimmick, JetBlue is encouraging voters to head to the actual polls on Nov. 6.

The free flight would not include taxes, fees or a hotel. JetBlue's international routes include Mexico and the Caribbean.

As of Wednesday night, JetBlue’s contest poll was about as close as the national ones with 52 percent of entrants siding with the Democrats, and 48 percent siding with the Republicans.
