That's how many days the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to be in session next year, according to the schedule released Friday by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va.

The first day of the 113th Congress will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013. The House will be in session eight days in January.

Starting in February, the House will be in session no fewer than 11 days each month until August, when the summer recess begins. The final day of session before recess is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 2, 2013. The House will be back in session on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013. 

The number of days the House will be in session (a month-by-month breakdown):

January — 8

February — 11

March — 12

April — 12

May — 12

June — 16

July — 14

August — 2

September — 9

October — 14

November — 8

December — 8
