The following U.S. service members died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from March 16, 2012 through March 22, 2012:

Army Sgt. Daniel J. Brown, 27, of Jerome, Idaho; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

Army Capt. Aaron D. Istre, 37, of Vinton, Louisiana; assigned to HHC, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Hood, Texas. 

Army Sgt. Jamie D. Jarboe, 27, of Frankfort, Indiana; assigned to the 4th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Army Spc. Dennis P. Weichel Jr., 29, of Providence, Rhode Island; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 143rd Infantry Regiment, 56th Troop Command, Rhode Island National Guard, East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
