I know that who ever opens up a convenience store with lots of chips and munchies next to the MJ store is going to make out like a king.

Most anti drug law do not make any sense. I do not know how much money making it legal would bring in. I do not think that should be the main argument to make marijuana legal. It is less adicting than alcohol or tobacco. No one should be jailed for the use of anything. Anytime some one else is placed in danger, address that, such as driving under the influence. 
There  are too many people in jail just for using marijuana. Reduce the prision population. Spend more money on prevention, treatment and drug courts.
