While browsing our several shelves of books, deciding which ones would accompany Rodna and me on our migration to the north side of town, which ones would be donated elsewhere, and which ones would be forced to endure a quick and painless demise (dumpster bound), I came across . . .

"I was there; gigs that changed the world" by Mark Paytress

This is a 14" x 14" pictorial-intensive hard-bound compilation filled with photos and discussion of gigs from . . .

Robert Johnson
Three Forks, Greenwood, Mississippi (July 1938)

to . . .

The Moondog Coronation
The Cleveland Arena, Clevelan, Ohio (March 1952)

to . . .

Buddy Holly
The Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa (February 1959)

to . . .

The Who
The Marquee, London, England (November 1964 - April 1965)

to . . .

Frank Sinatra
The Sands, Las Vegas, Nevada (1966)

to . . .

Johnny Cash
Folsom State Prison, Folsom, California (January 1968)

And so on and so on and so on and . . . up to . . .

Brian Wilson
Festival Hall, London, England (February 2004)

The reason I post this here is that we are looking for an entity that would appreciate its donation. We have already donated, and will continue to donate, items to the library (more historical books are coming) , the 1912 center (we have a photo [photos, not postcards] album created by a UI student in the mid- to late-30s forthcoming), Salvation Army (more "good" to "excellent" condition furniture forthcoming), and other local entities.

Is anybody aware of, and can recommend, a local entity that would appreciate this book?

Seeya round town, Moscow.
