Ex-Idaho senator has July court date on new charge
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Former Idaho Republican state Sen. John McGee is due in court on Aug. 21 at 1:30 p.m. to face misdemeanor charges linked to sexual harassment allegations.
McGee turned himself in to Ada County Sheriff's office officials Tuesday and has been given the date to appear on charges of disturbing the peace and a probation violation.
The Republican quit the Senate Feb. 22 after an aide complained he harassed her.
He's charged with disturbing the peace following a Feb. 7 incident where he's accused of profane and offensive language and/or offensive conduct.
Fourth District Court documents don't give specifics.
Before quitting, McGee was the fourth-ranking state senator, as the GOP majority caucus chairman.
McGee was previously arrested Father's Day 2011 after driving drunk in a car that didn't belong to him.
