"Councilor *Walter Steed* said after five years of planning and several
public hearings regarding design guidelines, zoning and overlay districts,
he felt there were enough safeguards in place to make *a public hearing for
each proposed development unnecessary*."

Lack of transparency serves no one except special interests and the
politicians who can profit from that.  Mr. Slime has repeatedly
demonstrated his anti-transparency propensities and is supported by other
councilors who do not believe that the public is either smart enough to be
able to give useful input, or who generally ignore it in favor of special
interests.
