Shocking, indeed!

I'd like to know the explanation. As you've described it, most repugnant.

I was quite surprised today when I went to the Latah County Courthouse
to handle some business.
In the shaded northwest corner of the lobby area, half hidden behind a
table with a large empty box, stood the flag of the USA, along side
the flag of Idaho.
In the front of the large display case more centered to the room, was
the battle flag of the confederacy, splayed out across a shelf and
draping down.
It was probably the single most prominent item in the lobby of the
courthouse, except for possibly the empty box that blocked the other
flags, neither of which were draped out open for prominent display. Of
course I understand the importance of learning about history. But…
For a courthouse in north Idaho to find it appropriate to display a
symbol of traitors MORE prominently than the symbols of this nation we
are proud of almost leaves me speechless.
