The following U.S. service members died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from June 29, 2012 through July 5,, 2012:

Army Spc. Jonathan Batista, 22, of Kinnelon, New Jersey; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 321st Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Staff Sgt. Raul M. Guerra, 37, of Union City, New Jersey; assigned to the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Army Capt. Bruce A. MacFarlane, 46, of Oviedo, Florida; assigned to the 1186th Transportation Company, 831st Transportation Battalion, Jacksonville, Florida.

Army Pfc. Cody O. Moosman, 24, of Preston, Idaho; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Army Cpl. Juan P. Navarro, 23, of Austin, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
