Joe,
Now you have a legitimate reason to be a Costco member. Chances are, any place you find to do all that work will charge the cost of a Costco Membership+what it costs to have Costco do it for you, plus it will take a lot longer.
Some Wal-mart supercenters have this service too. However, I would not trust Walmart with my treasured family keepsakes.
Another option is to ask a UI student to do it for you. But again, family keepsakes left in the hands of someone you don't know and is not a professional.
Many people tossed their VHS machines. Me, I tossed all my CD players instead, I can play CDs on my bluerays and computers, I cannot play VHS tapes on a computer or with a blueray machine.

Tom,
I have similar needs, videos of my son when he was very young
(including a clip where he walked for the very first time). So let us
know if you find a place! I'm in no rush -- not not a member of Costco
as of yet.
