[Vision2020] Nope . . .

I thought this module was snagged in the court system, and was thus not allowed into Montana?

(At least, that’s what I remember when I saw it and talked to the security guards this past summer).

In case some of you didn't catch it, I was being flip with my vagrancy reference.

The driver of the load parked at Lolo Hot Springs Resort is long gone. The load sits under the "supervision" of 2 Imperial/Exxon-hired security guards. According to Imperial/Exxon there is nothing inside the "test module," which left the Port of Lewiston April 11, 2011. 174-miles and 23 days later, on May 4th it arrived at the hot springs, where it has since sat.

Although Imperial/Exxon is paying $6000 a month to keep the load in the hot springs' parking lot, less business due to the presence of the behemoth + its guards has helped the resort slide into bankruptcy, for which its owners filed Sept. 19, 2011.

I take exception to harassing a working man or woman trying to support his family. And yes, trucking companies do pay truckers while sitting, so they are working. Not enough pay to make it worth it, but they do make a few bucks when you are unable to move when it is not your fault. They are also legally responsible for the cargo too even if given a crappy truck.

I am all for charging the oil company for the truck sitting there. Just not the poor truck driver. If a truck driver turns down a load, companies will not be so eager to offer him another and he goes broke fast. Next to teachers and waitresses, truckers are one of the worst treated people.

Unless the driver has a job, or some means of support, perhaps the Montana State Police should consider arresting him for vagrancy.

Is the one Imperial Oil shipment still sitting at Lolo Pass. Any images from there?
