[Vision2020] Not All Police Departments are as Efficient as the MPD

We're also talking about a suspect in a home invasion robbery who is described as being "armed and dangerous" and who might just be having second thoughts about turning himself in.  I'd say a two hour delay and some backup is acceptable under these kinds of conditions.

If it were simply a broken down vehicle on the side of the road and that's all they knew about it, I would probably have thought it was funny, too.

This wouldn't have been quite so funny if they hadn't blocked traffic, casually walked up to a car that possibly held a suspect from a home invasion robbery but that they blithely assumed was empty, and precipitated a firefight in dense rush hour traffic.  I hate to see them be ridiculed for acting cautiously when the facts that they had at the time warranted it.
