PRESS RELEASE
City of Moscow to Host Open House on Zoning District and Design Guidelines

February 8, 2012 (Moscow, Idaho) - The Community Development Department will be hosting a Community Open House meeting to share information regarding the draft zoning district and design guidelines and to receive comments and feedback from the community on Wednesday, February 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers at 206 E Third Street. Everyone is invited to attend to learn more and share your thoughts and ideas.

Over the course of the last 2 years, the City of Moscow Community Development Department and Planning and Zoning Commission have worked toward the formation of land use and design standards to guide the future redevelopment of the agriculture/industrial area located between the University of Idaho Campus and downtown.

The vision that has been articulated for the redevelopment of this key central area by community members, and the City Council and Moscow Urban Renewal Agency, is that of a vibrant mixed use development that would provide employment, shopping and entertainment and residential opportunities within the community. Design Guidelines have been developed to ensure the creation of an urban development form which complements the character of downtown Moscow and the University of Idaho Campus.
