[Vision2020] The N.R.A. at the Bench

It seemed to me the article summed it up well.

" <http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/> Note that the N.R.A. had never
before scored a judicial confirmation vote. Note also that Sonia Sotomayor
had no record on the N.R.A.'s issues.

<http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/> The N.R.A. had all the reason it
needed to oppose Sonia Sotomayor: maintenance of its symbiotic relationship
with the Republican Party. Once it announced its opposition and its
intention to score the vote, Republican support for the nominee melted away.
Only seven Republicans voted for confirmation."

So does all the members of the NRA support guns for everone?

Let's face it, they call them assault rifles for a reason. If you need to
shoot one off, join the military.

Why do you suppose that the NRA's membership is larger the the top three
leading anti-firearms groups memberships (extremely conservative est.)
combined?

That said, we're still stuck with Sotomayer and her patron. Tell me again
how they determine for the majority who is elected and appointed.

And yet they alone have so much influence, on a single issue, that it can

Seems unfair.

That being said, "boo" to all the representatives that cave to a single
interest over the wellbeing of our nation.

"So the NRA gets to decide who gets to be on the supreme court?"

No. They get to have an preference and work toward it's realization just the
same as any organization comprised of American voters.

Yours for a little less over wrought discussion,
