Fear of shooting prompts CdA closure

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho—Schools in Coeur d'Alene will be closed on Friday because of persistent rumors of plans for a school shooting.

The Coeur d'Alene School District made that decision because of the anxiety that has spread through the community about the threat.

The school district says in a press release that law enforcement has not isolated a credible threat, but the district feels the ability to have a productive school day has been compromised.

The school day will be made up on Feb. 15, which had been previously designated as a day off.
