PRESS RELEASE
Impaired Driver Emphasis Scheduled

December 14, 2012 (Moscow, Idaho) - The Moscow Police Department, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Idaho are increasing patrols directed at reducing the number of impaired drivers this holiday season.

The Moscow Police Department will be participating in patrols directed at the enforcement of the state's impaired driving laws from December 17, 2012 to January 2, 2013. Directed patrols dedicated to decreasing impaired driving often yield violations other than the ones targeted.

Within the city of Moscow and throughout the state of Idaho, directed patrols consistently result in:

*         Warrant arrests

*         Drug arrests

*         Child safety seat violations

*         Suspended license citations

*         Uninsured motorist citations

The goal of this project is to support the statewide highway safety goal of reducing motor vehicle related deaths and serious injuries as a result of impaired drivers by increasing law enforcement presence and increasing arrests of those impaired drivers.

For more information please call the Moscow Police Department at 208.882.COPS (2677). Please plan for a sober driver this holiday season.
