Well, perhaps yes, at the present time. However, state level control,
regardless how miserly could be its benefits at its inception, might be,
through thoughtful, aggressive, and successful lobbying by citizenry
through their legislators, turned into a set of premium plans
customizable for the nearly individual needs of various groups of
Idahoans. Such may seem neither easy nor probable now, but at least
possible with coordinated, concerted efforts.

Rather than being told without choice what benefits will be available,
local control gives more opportunities for local options. Insurance,
especially public insurance, need not be considered only delivered
engraved on stone tablets. Insurance is embodied within contracts, and
contracts have at least two parties, and those parties can negotiate the
contents of their contracts.

In other words, let's try to see opportunities rather than difficulties
in the choice for state level control.
