Road Construction Update

September 6, 2011 (Moscow, Idaho) - Projects coordinated by the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) are nearing completion.  Both the asphalt overlay east of Mountain View, as well as the widening of Highway 8 from White Avenue to beyond Blaine Street is scheduled for completion on September 10.

Testing performed after the asphalt overlay project determined that much of the asphalt set on the east bound lane did not meet ITD's specifications.  In order to assure a long-lasting surface, the contractor will reset the section on Wednesday, September 7, to be completed and open on September 8.  Following the opening of the entire stretch of highway, the traffic signal at Blaine and Highway 8 will be in flash mode for a 3-day test period and will then be put into normal operation.
