This problem offers an interesting look at the current deficit spending issue.

In a recent Daily News article residents of Harvard demonstrated how upset they are about the prospect of losing their post office.

However, if you look at voting numbers and listen to their political opinions, many in the Potlatch-Princeton-Harvard area are tea partiers who want to slash the federal budget and not raise taxes.

The lesson from the tea party in this case is:  cut other's benefits, not ours.  Maybe someone should ask Gresham Bouma what his solution would be.
