PRESS RELEASE
City of Moscow to Hold Open House on Intermodal Transit Center Project

May 31, 2011 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow will be holding the third and final public open house session regarding the proposed Intermodal Transit Center on Monday, June 6th, from 4:30-6:30 PM in Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 206 E. Third Street.

In October of 2010, the City of Moscow was awarded a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to construct an Intermodal Transit Center (ITC). The third and final open house session will include project information stations that will describe the selected facility location, preliminary facility building plans and architectural design, and provide opportunity for public comment.

The ITC is envisioned as a transit center featuring administrative and passenger service areas, exterior covered passenger boarding areas, bicycle parking facilities, and secure transit vehicle parking. The ITC will serve as a link between transportation service providers including Moscow Valley Transit, Wheatland Express, Northwestern Trailways, the Vandal Shuttle and the City's intercity van pool program to facilitate the seamless integration of transportation services on the Palouse.
