Or maybe a compromise, like health insurance currently provided to active and retired military . . .

Tri-Care
http://www.tricare.mil/

After my spouse spent five days in intensive care and three days in critical care at Gritman after a threatening bout with pneumonia (June 2006) a bill that came to better than $30,000 (of which cost us $1,200 out of pocket), her prescriptions were free (as in ZERO) for the remainder of the fiscal year.

If the health provider does not accept Tri-Care, we receive a check from Tri-Care as if the health provider did accept Tri-Care.

And this isn't even Tri-Care Prime, which makes Tri-Care Standard (in which Rodna and I are enrolled) seem expensive. To be eligible for Tri-Care Prime, we would have to reside within fifty miles of a military hospital.

Thoughts, V-Peeps?
