The moral implications of all the impacts of the tar sands development
transcend the legal and government structures in place that are available to
address these implications, structures that are ill equipped to
address impacts on the planetary commons on a centuries long time frame.
Even without legal standing to block or slow the tar sands development, such
as legal standing to block the mega-loads passage through Moscow, moral
objections can and should nonetheless be raised, as you just did.
