Hi Joe,

I'm with you here, but for perhaps slightly different reasons. This is not the first platitude we have read wherein the defined word occurs in the definition. Linguistic sloppiness, as well as seeming to commit a circular reasoning fallacy, almost a petitio principii. ([To] believe is to be a believer.)
