Actually, you couldn't be more wrong. (even with all the practice you've had) I thought that the President did a very good job with his speech. Other then being slightly over long, which I attribute to the crowd interuptions, I thought it struck pretty much the right tone and was delivered perfectly. It appeared to me that early on in his delivery even he was a bit taken aback by the less than somber nature of the crowd.

Yes, that sounds to me like more of an opportunity for the participants to show solidarity in the face of ugliness. I think Gary is mischaracterizing the situation in order to make the President look bad for political benefit. Kind of ironic, considering how much he has been railing at others for politicizing something.
