Unions muster Boise rally

 

BOISE - Nearly 400 union supporters demonstrated at the Idaho Statehouse on
Saturday, carrying signs that said "Save the American Dream." 

 

The rally was part of a nationwide effort by labor and political groups to
show solidarity with protesters in Wisconsin, where Republican Gov. Scott
Walker is backing legislation that would strip unions of most of their
collective bargaining rights. 

 

Adrienne Evans is the executive director of United Vision for Idaho, one of
the organizers of the rally. She told the Idaho Statesman that state budget
problems are being used as a reason to dismantle employee bargaining rights.
