Most practical folks see futility, embarrassment, and uncompensated losses for
themselves as fruits of allowing others to know they have noticed such things.

Many correctly see themselves as powerless to do anything about such things.
If they had such a thought as banding together in common cause, it would
frighten them. If they weren't frightened, often they would look at their
practical deficits in knowledge, organization, funding, and standing to sue,
and sigh the breath of leaderless defeat.

Others, poor as dirt but aspiring to riches, fame, and greatness, take on the
attitudes of the rich, ignoring their own plight, voting against themselves.
Such folks wouldn't dream of acting against those they perceive as their own.

And, sad to say, more than a trivial part of our so-called modern society is
not so far advanced from hands-on animal aggression. In part because that's
all they understand, and in part because, even though they may know some of
the finer points of diplomacy, they feel their opponents will better understand
the lower forms of communication better, so use them for their mutual benefit.

The working guy understands there are different levels of justice for different
classes of society. That's been true for at least the millennium that Churches
have sold indulgences from one hand, and demanded obedience with the other.
Hypocrisy has a long history that is not unknown among people with less to
lose, and at least as much desire to keep all they have. Don't rock the boat.
