It is easy to get discouraged, but I think we need to realize that we can 
think and innovate our way out of this situation. Not necessarily high-tech 
innovation, though that may be part of it. But more necessarily, social and 
governmental organization innovation. We need to create, agree upon, and 
implement new structures of people and power that will carry out new paradigms 
of economic democracy and governance in the United States.

We talk and talk about bringing democracy to countries around the world. 
That's fine, as long as it isn't just obfuscating fog to cover up our own 
hypocritical duplicity. What the US really needs to do is to innovate and to 
create new forms of more socially and economically powerful democracy here.
