PRESS RELEASE
Holiday Parking Available to Citizens

December 9, 2011 - The University of Idaho in an ongoing cooperative effort with the City of Moscow is offering off-street parking in several campus lots during the winter break, December 16 through January 8.

The City appreciates this option in light of the Snow Removal Proclamation Ordinance. This ordinance requires that when a Snow Removal Proclamation is declared by the Mayor that vehicles parked on Snow Routes as outlined in the ordinance must be removed from the street. This is information is outlined on the City's website at http://www.ci.moscow.id.us/pub_works/engineering/snow.aspx.

With the possibility of snow during the winter break, this alternate parking provides an excellent option for residents along those routes to park vehicles elsewhere if they will be out of town during the break.

The lots available for students and residents during the break include:
Lot 2 - Railroad Street & College Avenue
Lot 60 - Sweet Avenue off of State Hwy 95
Lot 36 - Deakin Avenue & University Avenue
Lot 66 - Elm Street behind the Student Union Building
Lot 28 - South end of Ash Street
Lot 64A - Off of 3rd Street
Lot 5 - Paradise Creek Street & Rayburn Street
Lot 25 - Rayburn Street between State Hwy 8 & Paradise Creek Street
Lot 62 - Paradise Creek Street & Stadium Drive

For more information on parking on the University of Idaho campus, visit the Parking and Transportation Services webpage at http://www.uidaho.edu/parking/.

Parking in these lots is at the owners risk and vehicles must be removed by January 8. After January 8, vehicles will be subject to parking regulations as outlined by the University of Idaho Parking Regulations for each of the lots.

Additionally, the University of Idaho will not be allowing overnight parking on campus streets during the winter break. Any vehicle stored on campus for the break, or left overnight for any reason should park in one of the lots listed above. Vehicles parked overnight on campus streets will be eligible for citation and/or towing.

The City thanks the University for providing this space for residents and appreciates the ongoing partnership we have both enjoyed throughout the years.
