Harold S. Judson, 80, of Tensed
A memorial service for Harold S. Judson, 80, is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at the Freeze Church, Potlatch, Idaho, with Pastor Kathy Kramer officiating. The Potlatch Post No. 10300 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United States Army Honor Guard are participating. Urn burial will be at the Freeze Cemetery. Mr. Judson passed away Tuesday evening on Nov. 29, 2011, at the Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho.
Harold was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Colfax, Wash., to Lyle H. and Eva J. (Barr) Judson. He attended his early schooling in the Highland one-room school house and graduated from the Plummer High School in 1949.
Harold joined the U.S. Army on Feb. 12, 1952, and served in the Korean War. He was discharged Oct. 24, 1953, as a corporal.
He married Amy Horn on June 10, 1955, in Potlatch, Idaho. The couple made their home at DeSmet, Idaho. Amy Judson died in 1987.
He married Martha Osterberg on Dec. 9, 1988, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and the couple made their home in Sanders, Idaho. Harold was employed at the Potlatch mill, C.B. Logging at Princeton, Idaho, worked for the Benewah County Road District for several years, and Pacific Crown Timber Products at Plummer, Idaho, when he retired in 1995.
Harold enjoyed raising cattle, taking care of his ranch in Sanders, hunting, fishing, traveling and woodworking. He was a member of the Potlatch Post No. 10300 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 23 years, Martha Judson, Tensed; three sons, Scott Judson and his wife, Pamela, Moscow, Idaho; Michael Judson and his wife, Kathy; Randall Judson and his wife, Martha, both of DeSmet; two stepsons, John Fuchs, Bonney Lake, Wash., and Kim Fuchs, Tekoa, Wash.; one daughter, Peggy Rydeen and her husband, Roger, Scandia, Minn.; one stepdaughter, Cathy Curtis, and her husband, Cliff, Waverly, Wash.; one brother, Donald Judson, Cataldo, Isaho; one sister, Bertie (Floyd) Honn, Endicott, Wash.; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Jodi Judson.
Memorials may be given to the Tensed Ambulance Fund, Box 6, Tensed, ID 83870.
Kramer Funeral Home, Palouse, Wash., is handling the arrangements.
