Greetings Visionaires -

The "Moscow Cares" website has been jupdated to include videos and
documents from the following segment of the August 1st Moscow City Council
session.

-----------------------------------------

Legislative Redistricting

Idaho's Commission on Reapportionment is collecting and considering input
on proposed legislative redistricting, based on the 2010 U.S. Census. That
Commission's final plans must be filed by September 4, 2011. The matter
has taken on speed and determination in recent weeks, and interested
parties are encouraged to weigh-in as soon as possible to register our
desires and supportive rationale to be considered. The Latah County
Commissioners unanimously support a Latah-Benewah District, and will
formalize their position at a meeting on Monday August 1. All three of our
District 6 Legislators support keeping Latah and Benewah Counties whole,
and combining them into a single district. The draft resolution is
provided to support the unified, bi-partisan position to support a
Latah-Benewah District.

(Passed 3-3, Mayor Chaney voted aye)
