CU-Boulder is Playboy's 'Top Party School' for 2011

Playboy picks The University of Colorado-Boulder as its 'Top Party School"
for 2011. noting among other factors that Boulder is "home to reefer
madness."

Although Playboy and the heartbreak of glaucoma are not often paired, the
magazine helpfully points out that the city has 50 medical-marijuana
dispensaries.

Every April, it says, nearly half of the university's 24,000-plus
undergrads turn out (on?) for the annual "4/20 smoke-out on school
grounds."

Playboy reassures traditionalists that Boulder is also a "beer drinker's
paradise, with four breweriesin town.

The magazine, which announced its list today, says it bases the annual
rankings on such factors as male-female ratio, winning percentage of
sports teams, etc., while adding bonus points for schools near beaches,
ski slopes and a hot music scene.

It also emphasizes, not as convincingly, that "we factor in academic
excellence because the work hard, play hard ethic is the DNA of any party
school."

As evidence to the contrary, it should be noted that Playboy says you know
Boulder is a party school "because whenever you tell someone that you went
there, the first thing they ask is, 'Did you graduate?'"

The rankings:
1.University of Colorado-Boulder
2.Penn State
3.Arizona State University
4.University of Western Ontario
5.University of Texas-Austin
6.University of Wisconsin
7.University of Georgia
8.University of Tennessee-Knoxville
9.University of Central Florida
10.University of California-Santa Barbara
