[Vision2020] Joe and Arrogance

Did I say you were critical of Muslims and Mormons? No. What is true is that
you supported a candidate who was openly critical of Mormons -- and then
refused to talk about it! You are distorting my points and refusing to talk
intelligently about the important issues underlying the post.

I don't care if other Mormons worked for Bouma. I'm sure there were Jews who
worked for Hitler, too. What relevance is that? It's like telling me you
have black friends, so you can't be a bigot.

Look, some of the comments were tongue in cheek; some were serious. It
doesn't matter with you because you ignore serious questions anyway. I'm at
a loss as to how to deal with you. You dismiss critical comments from anyone
who disagrees with you.

And you missed the substantive points noted below. Again, I'm sure you won't
answer these questions but I'll ask AGAIN.

What would be wrong with me starting a church called Roger is an Idiot? If I
did and said that you were an idiot was the central belief of that religion,
would that make it right? If you say "Yes," then maybe I'll start the church
and start spreading the word that you're an idiot. If you say "No," what on
earth gives Bouma the right to regard Mormons as blasphemous; how is that
attitude -- publicly and openly expressed by his pastor -- appropriate and
not something that should be openly condemned? Maybe Bouma doesn't believe
that. But then why didn't he answer questions from voters last election on
this matter and make that clear? I'll tell you, if my pastor made such
bigoted and idiotic comments, I'd leave in a heartbeat. Why didn't Bouma
leave?

What gives Christ Church the right to be openly offensive and critical of
gays, Muslims, secularists, etc.? Why do stand up and defend Bouma against
my insults of him but not defend Mormons, gays, Muslims, secularists, etc.
against insults from the local right wing pastors?

What is it about something being a religious conviction that makes
offensive, bigoted behavior appropriate? Please explain that to me.
