PRESS RELEASE
Title: Comment Requested on Proposed Garden Name

April 4, 2011 - The City of Moscow Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking public comment regarding the proposed name of the one acre of city property to be developed into a community garden, due by April 5, 2011. The property is located east of the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center and north of F Street in Moscow.

The proposed garden name, "Hamilton Community Garden," is in memory of Bob Hamilton and his wife Glenna Lowe-Hamilton, life-long residents of Moscow, who originally bought and donated the piece of land on Mountain View Road. The tag line for the garden, 'Let's Grow Together' is also open for public comment. The tag line was submitted by Janice Becker during the garden naming contest held January 5th through January 23rd. Justification for the name can be found in the Parks and Recreation section of the City of Moscow web site, www.ci.moscow.id.us<http://www.ci.moscow.id.us>.

The public comment period will be open through April 5th, 2011 and residents are invited to voice support or opposition to the proposed name and tag line, which will be considered by the Moscow City Council when presented for approval on by late spring.

Comments can be delivered to the Moscow Parks and Recreation office at the Eggan Youth Center, located at 1515 E. D St., or sent by e-mail to enewell at ci.moscow.id.us<mailto:enewell at ci.moscow.id.us> with the subject line of "Garden Naming Comments." For information, call (208) 883-7085 or (208) 883-7084.
