Free Public Activities at the Moscow Food Co-op in October 
  
Art 
The Moscow Food Co-op welcomes photographer Robert Long, who will display his work in the Co-op's deli gallery.  The opening reception is from 5:30 - 7 p.m., Friday, October 8, and the show runs through November 10.  Long is a northwest native and has lived in the Palouse area for over 20 years. 
The Co-op is located at 121 East Fifth Street in downtown Moscow.

Music 
The Moscow Food Co-op's Tuesday Night Music Series concerts are held every Tuesday from 5-6:30 p.m.  Tuesday Music has moved indoors for the winter.

October 12: The Turner-Jones Connection, Moscow, Idaho.  Improvisational jazz 
October 19: Gefiltefish, Moscow, Idaho.  Klezmer and Gypsy music 
October 26: The Tom Drake Trio, Moscow, Idaho.  Acoustic blues 
  
Co-op Kids! 
Children and their caregivers are welcome for the following Co-op Kids activities.  Co-op Kids meets weekly and all events are all free, with snacks and materials donated by the Moscow Food Co-op. 
9 a.m., Tuesday, October 5:  Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café to make polka dot rice. 
9 a.m., Tuesday, October 12: Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café for beeswax candle making. 
9 a.m., Tuesday, October 19:  Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café for fork weaving. 
9 a.m., Tuesday, October 26: Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café to make leaf lanterns.

Co-op Mamas and Papas Group 
The Co-op Mamas and Papas group for expecting parents and parents of newborns meets each Wednesday at 9:30 - 11 a.m. in the Co-op Deli.  In October, meet for conversation and informal talks by experienced parents and experts about how to get organized and maintain strong personal relationships.  Complementary beverages will be provided.  Those interested in receiving notifications about speakers and special coupons can sign up for our email list by sending a message to babies at moscowfood.coop.  
  
Co-op's Good Food Book Club in October 
The Co-op's Good Food Book Club will meet Monday, October 18 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at a private residence (email bookclub at moscowfood.coop for directions) to discuss "Small is Beautiful: Economics as if People Really Mattered" by E.F. Schumacher.  "Small is Beautiful" is available at BookPeople on Main Street in Moscow.  Co-op Book Club members receive a 20 percent discount.
