[Vision2020] US response to parcel bombs

I wanted to give a thumbs up to our President for not flying off the
handle in response to the apparently Al-Qaeda linked bombs that were
intercepted recently. He's doing the right thing, in my opinion.
Increasing airport security to target this specific threat, letting his
security agencies investigate the threat, working with the Yemeni
government to put pressure on this branch of terrorists, and putting out
a press release to let the American people know that the threat is being
taken seriously and to let us know that we can be confident that the
threat will be handled competently.

More important is what he is not doing. He is not rattling sabers, not
haranguing Muslims, not trying to scare the American people into passing
oppressive legislation, and not trying to rally the American people into
attacking whatever country he's been Jonesing to attack since he took
office.

Of course, nobody died, and no buildings came down in such a dramatic
way. I just wonder what would have happened if President Obama had been
in office on 9/11.

Anyway, I'll be in and out of town because of family matters so I may
not be able to respond to people on this for the next few days. I just
wanted to throw that out there.

Paul
