[Vision2020] Religious Concerns about a Candidate?

Oh, for Pete's sake, Roger -- this didn't just come up for Bouma -- he's
heard the sermons for God knows how long. I don’t know how long Bouma has
been attending Freeze Community Church because he's certainly NOT been as
honest as Obama was, but the intolerant preaching at Freeze Community Church
has been going on for a long time. Your comment about this only "just came
up" for Bouma is patently false as I know I ***personally*** gave you a
head's up back in July -- it's not my problem you didn't pay attention or
bother to educate yourself. Perhaps you & other Latah County GOP members
have chosen to bury your heads in the sand because it's convenient.

Bouma attends a church that has decided to brazenly flout IRS regulations
required for churches that want the benefit of tax exemption, and Knerr has
bragged about it from the pulpit, for crying out loud. No one forces
churches to accept tax exempt benefits, but when a church *does* choose to
accept that benefit, it's dishonest -- to put it mildly -- not to follow the
rules. Roger, do you ***really*** think it wise to elect someone who
attends a church that knowingly & intentionally violates IRS regs & who
hasn't condemned that rule-breaking???

Bouma attends a church where the LDS religion is accused of blasphemy &
heresy, and likened to Satan's minions, for crying out loud. The pastor
concludes his venom with, " Okay, sorry for letting off so much steam, but
this, “it doesn‘t make any difference what a man‘s religion is” junk is
sometimes more than I can take."

Since Bouma attends a church where it's preached that knowing a "man's"
religion IS important, everyone who truly believes in the US Constitution
would been stupid not to pay attention

We know that Bouma himself circulated an Islamaphobic email, so tolerance of
other religious views certainly isn't something he practices or believes in.
Don't you think that's important for Latah County voters to know that our
tolerance will be met with intolerance???

Bouma attends a church that routinely spreads the hateful LIE that President
Obama is a Muslim and uses that as a basis to attack our president. Again,
if a person's religion is so important to them and legitimate fodder with
which to attack other Americans, we'd be foolish not to heed that knowledge.

Bouma attends a church that believes God hates America. Why on earth would
any thinking person want to elect someone who believes that God hates
America and attends a church where the belief is that ALL religions and
churches that don't share their teachings & beliefs are "Satan's
minions"?!?!

Bouma attends a church that preaches, "To support homosexual marriage is to
call God a liar. Any church that proclaims different is a church of Satan.
Any person who condones homosexual marriage is anti-God and anti-Christ. "

In one of your responses, you said that, " Everyone's religious beliefs
should be tolerated." To me, it's nothing short of sheer lunacy to turn a
blind eye to the vicious intolerance ROUTINELY preached at candidate Bouma's
church.

Quite frankly, Roger, I'm deeply disappointed that you've chosen to wear
blinders about this matter. You have repeatedly claimed to be a
libertarian, but your eagerness to turn a blind eye to the decidedly
reactionary Religious Right stance of candidates like Bouma who clearly
would love nothing more than to replace the Constitution with a theocracy
just because they call themselves "Republicans" is a horrifying betrayal of
Libertarianism. I beseech you to STOP being blinded by party loyalty and
look instead at the candidates rather than their party affiliation. Many of
us in Latah county have done so, which explains the success of previous
"Republican" candidate -- it works both ways, you know.

I am not evading anything, but I refuse to be draw in to the attempt to
deliberately create dissention. Obama sat in Wrights church for 20 years
with out objecting. His first response was to say that he could not
repudiate him. The situation with Bouma just came up. I am sure he will
answer it in his own way in due time. I am not aware of any split in the
Latah Republicans, except for Schroeder, who lost in the primary to Bouma.
