PRESS RELEASE
As the weather begins to change, bringing with it the falling leaves and snow, the Moscow Police Department would like to remind everyone to dispose of their leaves and other yard debris in an appropriate manner and to avoid sweeping or pushing leaves and snow and other materials into the city streets. Moscow City Ordinance 10-1-24 prohibits the depositing of materials, including snow and leaves, onto any city street. Complying with this ordinance helps avoid damage to expensive street cleaning equipment and also helps prevent storm drains from becoming blocked, which can cause flooding. For information regarding proper disposal of leaves, please contact Latah Sanitation at (208)882-5724 or Moscow Recycling at (208)882-0590, or visit their website at www.moscowrecycling.com<http://www.moscowrecycling.com>.
Also, the City of Moscow has designated some streets as Snow Routes, and in the event of snow you may be required to park elsewhere in order to allow the plows to remove the snow in a timely and efficient manner. Under City Ordinance Title 11, Chapter 5, parking on a designated Snow Route street during a Snow Proclamation could result in your vehicle, motorcycle, or trailer being towed. You can view this ordinance and the Snow Route map on the web at http://www.moscow.id.us/storage/public_records/CityCode/title11/chapter5.pdf.
We appreciate your cooperation!
