If you could average about one ant per second, it would 
take about 405 hours to count that many ants.

I think I counted 1,458,276 ants on my front lawn sidewalk and 
  front porch steps today before I lost count.  Both black ants and red 
  ants, and there's bad blood between them.  I saw a huge brawl on one of 
  the steps today.  Red ants were definitely winning.  While I am 
  generally a pacifist, I have murder in my heart vis-a-vis these 
  critters.  Does anyone know of an effective, non-toxic method of sending 
  them to ant heaven while not hurting other innocent, 4 legged or winged 
  friends?  I'm not sure Raid is the answer.
