University of Idaho Celebrates 100,000th Graduate at Spring Commencements
Written by Tania Thompson

MOSCOW, Idaho – Approximately 1,518 students are graduating this spring
from the University of Idaho, bringing the total number of graduates from
the state's land-grant institution to slightly more than 100,000.

"This milestone speaks to the deep-rooted strength of the University of
Idaho," said Duane Nellis, president. "For more than a century, the
institution has been an integral part of this state, contributing to its
economic and social development and educating its sons and daughters. Many
University of Idaho graduates have gone on to careers in leadership and
service and have, in turn, helped shape the development of the Gem State.
We celebrate our achievement by acknowledging the entire graduating class
of 2010, each as the 100,000th graduate of the University of Idaho."

Statewide, candidates have applied for 1,043 baccalaureate degrees, 84 law
degrees, 52 doctoral degrees, 20 specialist degrees and 352 master’s
degrees. Final graduation numbers will be available following the
semester's end. Some students will have earned multiple degrees.
