If you are referring to Bachman saying Obama has anti-American view, that may be a little strong but it does not compare with your snake oil,MaCarthyite comments. I of course did not intend to give a complete list by either side of all their name calling, just a few examples. You show your prejudice by condemning Palin for her notes but not Obama. I see nothing wrong with either. I do not write on my hand, but I sometimes do use note cards with subjects to be covered when I give a talk. As to Obama, he may not be anti-American, but his policies do do substantial harm to America. It is quite telling when Castro likes the healtcare bill while a substantial number of Americans do not. There are a few provisions in the bill that may be helpful but over all it is a disaster. It should have been scraped. We should start over from scratch. There is this loud cry that the Republicans do not have a plan. That is a lie they have came up with plenty. Take a look at Paul Ryans bill fo!
 r a
starter, thereare plenty more. These will not break the bank. Just how do you think that we are going to pay for the current plan. Social Security and Medicare are already in trouble. Obama was wrong when he said that this bill will give people more choices and that it will save people money. This will cost people more, both directly and through taxes. This plan in my opinion will bankrupt us. Healthare will be rationed, there will be waiting lines, people will die while waiting, some old folks now on Medicare will be denied service, the dollar will be devalued , and we will lose our standing in the world. We will be like Argentina when they went through several devaluations. You will need a wheelbarrow load of money to buy a loaf of bread. I resent your continued painting of the Tea Party with a broad brush. They are like every other movement. There are good people and bad in it, just like groups on the left. It would be nice if you would try to be a little more even hand!
 ed. There
are good people with different opinions on both sides. Lets recognize honest differences without name calling.
Roger

> I'm sorry, Roger, that you're disappointed. But I'm even sorrier that you would not condemn Bachmann's remarks below, her past diatribes, and the inflammatory, hate-filled shouts of so many of the Tea Partyers. Further, it's unfortunate to me that you're unable, or, as I suspect, publicly unwilling, to grasp the difference between Sarah Palin's apparent need to get through a friendly audience talk by writing things like "energy" and "taxes" on her hand and Barack Obama's use of TelePrompTers (looks weird, but that's the AP Style standard for the word!) during complex, detailed, and policy-filled speeches. Please consider that. Your failure to distinguish between those two examples, which you brought up, tends to make you appear less well-informed and even-handed than I understand you to be.

> As for my being a leftist, I can imagine that a good number of Moscow's liberals would scoff at any such idea. I know I would. I'm a pro-life, pro-business, Biblically conservative Democrat, but it appears that despite the modifiers, "Democrat" is what you seem to find synonymous with "leftist." Besides, any evangelical Christian who reveres Scripture and cares about the Gospel ought to object to Christ Church doctrine and practice In fact, doing so myself is undeniably a conservative thing for me to do.

The Tea Party movement iis no more bigoted( probably less ) than those on the left. Both the right and the left spend too much time on name calling. People on the left make fun of Palin for taking notes on her hand. Those on the right do the same about Obama's use of the teleprompter, Palin is called an idiot, but I would bet she knows how to correctly pronounce Corpsman. Fox news spent a way too much time on an making a big deal of Reid puting his arm around Pelosi. A big waste of air time. Why don't both sides just discuss the issues without the personnel insults.

In a few years, when this country begins to recognize the anti-Obama forces for what they are -- namely, devious fearmongers bent on destroying the man even if they take down many of our country's principles in the process -- Michele Bachmann will look like the combination of snake-oil salesman, Joseph McCarthy, King Herod, and Chicken Little that she really is.

But it will. Someday, Bachmann, Palin, McConnell, Boehner, the Tea Party movement, and the hysterically bigoted anti-Obama forces they represent will be revealed, and the U.S. will find itself in a state of deep embarrassment that it ever listened to them -- a conclusion the rest of the world will have reached long before.
