Courtesy of Washington Monthly with a very special thanks to a fellow
subscriber and faithful Vandal supporter who reminds us . . .

"Random bit of Vandal bravado - Washington Monthly recently did a great
big article on college rankings. UI was in the top 100 (68th) of
national universities. Beating WSU at 160. BSU was relegated to the
"masters college" category because they don't offer PhDs and ranked 399.
Poor ISU was ranked as a "drop out factory" with only a 26% graduation
rate."

The Washington Monthly header reads . . .

"Below are the Washington Monthly's 2010 national universities rankings.
We rate schools based on their contribution to the public good in three
broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income
students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and
Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country)."

Without further hesitation . . .
