Fight them?

Sounds like something a schoolyard bully would say.

How about outsmarting them? Out-planning them? Out-lobbying them? Outperforming them in all academic areas?

Oh, I guess we'd have hire some much smarter people at the UI especially at the upper echelon to do those things. Given the UI's recent fumbles (not in football, where they have shone) the probability of doing that seems very close to zero.

Sorry, you're right Dan. The only chance of the UI prevailing over BSU generally right now is to fight them, or possibly given the record of UI public relations, out-lying or out-obfuscating them.

Since WAC commissioner Benson replied with "no comment" regarding the question of whether BSU had anything to do with wooing Reno and Fresno State from the WAC to the MWC, I think it's just another reason to hate Boise State. Those donks are going to do all they can to torpedo any sort of success the UI as a whole, and the Vandals in particular, might enjoy. They continue to have an inferiority complex regarding Idaho (as they should), so they are doing all they can to reduce Idaho's size and relevance, and they figure they might as well start with athletics, football in particular.

  I want to fight them.

It's a long, complex story that is still evolving, but the Western Athletic Conference, of which the University of Idaho is a member, is in some danger of collapsing in a couple of years, with the possibility of the U of I being left out in the cold regarding any conference affiliation. For those who follow and care about this sort of stuff (and I'm not advocating anything, just wondering how Moscow people feel), if the conference, which is Division 1, does dissolve (which may well not happen), should the Vandal program continue to try to compete at the D-1 level, go back to the 1-AA Big Sky conference, with Montana, Montana State, EWU, etc., or drop football? Again, I'm not advocating anything, just curious. Obviously it's a big, big issue on Vandal Venue currently.
