I doubt your information has disappeared.  All employees had to have their I-9 
forms reverified as part of an an initiative to be compliant with some upcoming 
regulations or something.  I had to have my I-9 reverified this Spring.

I agree on the burning of books. Poof of citizenship is another matter. My 
record of part time employment  with the UI has been zapped. I have tro fill out 
another  I 9 . They require that I present my social Security Card or my  birth 
certificate, even though they should already have them on file.
