Chuck Bond is right. Cuts should start at the top. There are plenty of things at the administrative level than can be cut. All of the top administrators should take a cut. Doug Baker and Lloyd Mues could be cut permanently. Larry Branen is retiring in June and they are looking for a replacement. Why isn't this position being left unfilled like others are? In the Ag College, the PI's will have to come up with half of their technicians pay by January 2011. Some do not have the funds. Some of these technicians run important programs. If they are place on half time because of a shortage of funds, it will severely effect the programs. In addition to that half time employees would not be eligible for benefits. Some of these people have worked for the University for decades. I hope that Nick Gier will take this up.
