[Vision2020] Pickle Pickle

Many US pickle plants have closed because there are no workers to harvest
the cucumbers. Without the migrant workers, many of whom were here
illegally, the farmers chose to not plant a crop that would end up rotting
on the vine. I saw a news story on the closure of Oregon's largest pickle
factory.
The lack of farm labor is actually hurting the farm economies of both
Washington and Oregon. It really is time to rethink current policies and
figure out how to manage a guest worker program. Or else we need to get used
to pickles from India.
