Increase Your Biking Confidence With Biking Moscow 101 On May 20
If your pedaling skills are a little rusty and you want to improve your confidence on a bicycle, plan to attend Biking Moscow 101 on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 pm at the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center (HIRC) parking lot on the corner of Mountain View Road and F Street. Please bring a helmet and a bike!
The 90 minute event starts with a brief presentation on biking basics by Phil Cook, a certified instructor with the League of American Bicyclists, followed by a leisurely one-hour tour of Moscow's bike routes follows. Joining Cook on the ride will be bicycle advocate Mayor Nancy Chaney. May was officially proclaimed "Bike Month" by Moscow Mayor Chaney on May 4. Local activities are part of a national effort to increase safe and enjoyable biking.
Biking Moscow 101 participants will receive free swag including cool spoke cards to decorate their bikes and free flashers to wear at night.
This event is perfect for the cruiser and commuter, from beginners to experienced cyclists, and those who may be new to the area.
Biking Moscow 101 is one event in a month's worth of bicycling activities around Moscow in May. Recent events have included the Nearly Naked Bike Ride for charity, a Full Moon ride on the Latah Trail, and Bike to Work Day.
