Bad times, good people

Despite the current severe recession, there are some enormously satisfying
experiences that must be publicly shared.

Recently, I took some of my jewelry to our bank (Sterling Savings) for
safe-keeping. Soon after, I received a call from the bank, asking if I had
lost a ring. I looked around at home, and then went back to the bank's
safe-deposit, and sure enough, I discovered one of my expensive rings was
missing. I identified the details, and the bank handed me the ring.

How did it get there? Inadvertently, I had dropped it in the bank's
parking lot. A noble soul, Lisa Spence (works for Norm's Glass), found it
and turned it in.

Especially given the hard times, some would be tempted to keep such a
prize but, obviously, Lisa Spence is different - a very special lady, with
the best in human values.

Thanks, Lisa.

During extremely difficult financial times like these characterized by
budget cuts, pay cuts, and endless layoffs, the temptation grows ever
stronger to take financial advantage of somebody else's pitfalls,
especially when such an action may go undetected.

It is refreshing and heart-warming to read of the selflessly reassuring
acts of those like Lisa Spence, another smiling face, warm heart, and
helpful hand that makes me proud to call Moscow my adopted home.

Thanks Rukhsana and especially you, Lisa.
